It's Gayle hosting this week, bringing a spritz of cheer from the Pacific Northwest to you. Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Solstice, Kwanzaa or the end of the world as we know it, I'm sure you like to celebrate with a few favorite things near at hand.
For me, Christmas is about sparkle, baubles, magic and special treats that come only once a year. With every year, as I enjoy familiar light displays, ride the antique merry-go-round, bite into buttery cookies, buy the Christmas ham and listen to favorite songs, the memories and associations grow deeper ... and new ones are always forming. Since the first time I heard the line in the Clement Clark Moore poem, "While visions of sugar plums danced in their heads", I wanted magic like that. Guess I'm still chasing it. But, sometimes, I get pretty close!
May you have a bright, beautiful Christmas, full of smiles and love ~
