It's Friday night and my pleasure to present our Top 10. I have to tell you... I am desperately wishing right now that it was a Top 20 and not a Top 10. Boy... is this hard?! The entries this week were wonderful. The quality and presentation of the photos is improving by leaps and bounds every week. A special thank you to all of you. We noticed that you're all making a special effort to post larger photos. This makes the viewing experience wonderful!

What I loved about this week's theme was the way everyone met the challenge. I got exactly what I was looking for. I know there are so many views on industry, from the gentle hands knitting a scarf, to the huge factories, to the farms... through to nature's industry and the harm a lot of man's industry is doing to our ecology. This week's theme was an education too, as I'm sure you'd all agree.

Before I introduce the Top 10, a Special Mention goes to John. I simply loved his depiction of the theme. The photo was excellent and the theme itself was well represented. Do visit John's "Industry" here.

Ok, Drumroll.... here they are....... in no particular order:

  1. The Potter by Wellie - Pottery industry

  2. Weaving silk by Jayajaya - Saree weaving industry

  3. Rebuilding by Marc - Construction industry

  4. A labour of love by Carol - Home industry

  5. Waiting for the catch by Joanne - Fishing and tourist industry

  6. Heavy duty needle by Geo - Yacht and interior decor industry

  7. Ready for the big screen by Nancie - Movie and tourist industry

  8. Golden glow by Lise - Eco friendly power industry

  9. Recycled blue by Joel - Recycling industry

  10. Old and new by Danette - Shipping and transport industry

  23. First, let me say that I truly love this photo you have posted. There is nothing more revealing than the graceful weathered delicate beauty of hands at work. Well done.

Second, I would like to say that I was busy painting my house this week so did not post an entry, nor have I had time to visit all the entries as I typically do. I hope to get around to see some of your post this weekend and week as time permits.

Third, if what I see here is any indication of the quality of photos I will be visiting I'm for sure going to make that visit. The shot chosen this week are all magnificent and deserving of being #1. I will find it difficult to vote for just one. I'm going to have to give it some thought and time before I decide! Well done fellow photographers, kudos, bravo, hats off to you all!

  32. I just found out that my entry on silk weaving for this week’s Picture Perfect theme “INDUSTRY” has been selected as one of the top 10 entries and included in the poll. I thank you all my friends, contacts and all others for making this possible with your kind support and beautiful comments. I also thank the organizers, Tint, Cherie, and Heather for the strenuous job they have put in for organizing this. I also congratulate the other participants who have been selected in Top 10 and wish them all good luck. Now let us wait for the final winner. Best wishes to all.

    Good job everyone of you.

    ReplyDelete
  38. That was the hardest one yet, is it me but the standards are just getting better and better!!!!
    WELLDONE ONE AND ALL!
(Gosh isn't it close usually there is two run aways but not this time - exciting ain't it!)

    ReplyDelete
  39. I was just thinking that, Rachel. Usually there are two that are streaks ahead, but this time, it is all-round fairly even. A close run!

Yes, the standards are improving by leaps and bounds, helped by the fact that most are posting nice large photos. Everyone is putting so much more effort in : )

    ReplyDelete
  40. Yep, it so much easier to pop round the pages to view them as well!

    ReplyDelete
  41. That was so hard. I couldn't make up my mind and finally went with my first initial thought. LOL Great job! This was a hard one!

  48. Nice Job of picking the Top Ten.. each one has that special quality.
Hats off to the "Pickers and the Choosers".. that had to be a very hard job.
I may not be able to participate next week..
That is my busy weekend with the Musical... and my last play.. so .. only time will tell.

    ReplyDelete
  49. A labour of love...so warm and comforting, the colors easily match the mood. The face on the subject so sweet, and you can see the love being put into the blanket. The perspective is excellent, the composition and flow of the photo. Oh, I'm sorry - guess which one I voted for? :D Every other photo was a close contender though, all for very many reasons. Great week.

    ReplyDelete
  50. wonderful top ten this week! I'm very happy a version of my 'industry' picture made it to the top ten...and a much better picture than mine! :)

There was three that I really had to choose between........hard choices! But I did make my choice!

    ReplyDelete
  51. OK...I have voted....It seems ther eis not all that much time left. I'm sooooooooooo confused....LOL.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Ronnie... I have set the clock to 2am my time. That is the latest I will stay up to check the votes. I have checked every week and after that time, we may get one vote... not worth staying up for.

Tint~ who is lamentably 4 hours ahead.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Thank you all so much for your praise and support ...... I really appreciate it !!!!!!!! Thank you all.....and have a great weekend !!!!

    ReplyDelete

  60. I feel very honored to be in the top 10 once again. Thank you all for your comments and support. Thank you Tint, Heather and Cherie for your great devotion to PPF.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Since I was on the road this week, I didn't have internet access to submit a picture, nor time or access to look at and appreciate everyone else's! And again, they are all winners. What a challenge...for everyone involved! Thanks for your efforts.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Love that pic above, Tint -- the delicate hands, the delicate handiwork, and the contrast of the blue and the yellow.

Well, it's been fun to get out of my comfort zone this week and visit more pp entries! How fascinating to see the diversity of entries, and I've learned so much from each one. Very enjoyable!

Thanks to all who visited and commented on my page, especially because then I got to go see all of YOUR entries! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  63. wow..its a close race this week!!

    ReplyDelete
  64. They were all great. It was hard to choose one from the ten. I can't imagine having to choose 10 from the hundreds!

    ReplyDelete
  65. It has been really close all day. I love that the votes were so well spread out though. That was nice : )

    ReplyDelete
  66. I really do believe that by closing voting to contacts, we have a more fair voting system in place now

    ReplyDelete
  67. Congratulations to each of the winners, and and great round of applause to the group administrators. You had a tough week and you sailed through it well. We all admire your efforts, work and organizational skills when it comes to dealing with this many pictures, personalities and plain ole "good management" skills. APPLAUSE TO YOU ALL.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  69. Wow!!! Votes still coming in. This is close!!

  70. This is the only part of this fun that stesses me out! lol.. but there is one up there which brought back sweet sweet memories of childhood summer days spent sitting in the shade with granny.. a sack of old clothes in front of us and our scissors busy cutting, ALWAYS saving buttons and zippers! Nothing was wasted with those good folks and their simple ways.

    ReplyDelete
  71. What a beautiful memory that is : ) You painted a lovely picture there!

  77. Hey, Thanks everyone! I'm flattered! But best of all, my mother is flattered! (Although she's been fussing that her hair looks messy in the photo...)

Loved seeing all the great photos, not only in the top 10 but all the rest as well... what fun!
