Walking along the edge of “the woods” - which is what we call the 15 foot tangle of trees and brush that separates our property from the neighbors – I noticed this woodpecker nest carved into a long dead Maple.

I snapped the photo.

Looking at it later, it made me think what a beautiful piece of real estate the bird had selected. How warm, cozy, how comfortable a home he had made for himself.

Not that woodpeckers have that in mind, but what do you see as comfort? What brings you relief, joy, calm…?
