the day after the Harvest...

I have had hardly any internet connection for the past three days (yayyy comcast!), so apologies for not getting around to too many entries, those I have seen were varied and wonderful.

I am constantly amazed at the variety of takes on any given theme, how different we all think, but thats what makes this as unique as it is i guess. The harvesting pictures have rolled in from all over the world and the differences have been truly amazing!

Im not here to critique anyones pictures, but what is nice to see are the larger pictures I think, the ones on a bigger resolution have more appeal. I prefer to download my pictures to Photobucket or Flickr and then transfer them to my page, rather than directly from Multiply. Multiply automatically reduces them and then much of the visual appeal is lost. Im sure you can see the difference of clarity and resolution between this one (of the yachts) from Multiply and the corn one on my Harvest blog which was from Flickr.

Next week i will  'hide' the guestbook quick comment box, so that everyone can automatically leave their comments on the blog page, hopefully this will make it much easier to browse to other pages.

Some great takes on  the theme this week, thank you all for participating.

  1. Good idea about closing the comments there... I wasn't sure WHERE to leave my notification that my photo was up!
One thing that is/was very helpful is when people leave links to their blogs... I found that immensely easier to maneuver about!
I also wanted to thank you for creating such a place for us to share photos. As a new photographer, this is immensely helpful in learning.

  2. As one of the confused ones I went for over kill and posted link in the blog and comments. I agree that the link in the comment makes navigating really easy.

thank you for hosting such a wonderful page. I love visiting all the pages and seeing all the pictures--even if I don't always comment on all of them. Multiply lets you know who lurked.

  3. I took your suggestion and downloaded mine into Photobucket and then added the pic to my blog. You're right, it is bigger and looks even better. Thanks!

Looking forward to next week's theme. Have a great weekend!

  5. I haven't gotten halfway through the entries yet. Personally, I like the link in the comment, so that I can skip the main page where there is often music. I love music, but not at every page. I like the idea of a bigger photo display, but not everyone has a big screen and folk must be careful with overly large photos, as they take longer to load. I'm just thinking of those with slow connections or dial up. There is always the option of clicking on the photo in the blog to get to see a larger version.

  6. I write my post in 360 for my friends there then copy/paste the entire blog...the pictures there were always better...and it copies over the same size

  9. Hmmm...with my first Multiply account, I had some trouble copying and pasting photos from Flickr into a blog entry. In actual fact, it would not allow me to save those blog entries while the copy and pasted photos were in there. (No issue without a photo.) Has anyone else experienced this problem?

  10. Thank you for hiding the comment section...it's so difficult t keep track to everyone...I know I've missed many because I got so dizzy that in the end I gave up...It would nice if everyone tried to live their link on the same blog, like the one where the theme is proposed...Thank you!

  11. You probably know this, but if you click on the photo it opens in another window larger. I have someone on my friends list who cannot see photos imported from Flickr (banned in her country). I import directly, so she can see them :)

  12. I save the pic from Flickr to the web, and then upload it here...copy and paste doesnt work directly to Multiply. Yes you can click on the pic to enlarge it, and i guess this is great for the dial ups, I prefer to do one click and see it all...makes it easier.

Dont I sound the laziest blogger ever!!?

  19. Many have asked how to transfer their pics.

    Here is what I do:

I upload to Flickr..then I right click on the picture, and copy 'properties' and paste it in my top browser box, this opens up a separate window...then I go back to my blog. Click on the icon to upload the pic, it gives you the option of from 'the web'.. go back to the window opened previously (the one which opened separately) and download it from there.

Hope that doesnt sound to complicated!

  22. I had intended to take part and life kinda took over and I never got round to it, will be taking part this week though, definitely! Re the pictures I tend to use photobucket which is also an option for those who have accounts.
